Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at MSA Orthopedics. As a Surgical Tech, you will play a vital role in supporting our surgeons and ensuring a sterile environment during procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience in surgical settings, preferably in orthopedics, and be able to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment by sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  • Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures by arranging instruments and supplies.
  • Hand instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures, anticipating their needs to ensure efficiency.
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
  • Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and draping during procedures.
  • Assist in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care, including applying dressings.
  • Monitor and maintain supplies, ensuring adequate inventory in the operating room.
  • Assist with room turnover and cleaning between surgeries.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
Requirements
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Surgical Tech, orthopedic surgery experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
