Overview

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team. As a vital part of our integrated academic healthcare system, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients.

Work Location

Our Anesthesiologist Assistants work at various locations throughout the greater Atlanta Metro area, including Emory Johns Creek Hospital and 15 Outpatient Surgical Centers.

Work Hours/Schedule

We offer a variety of scheduling options, including full-time and part-time positions. Our Anesthesiologist Assistants work a combination of 8 and 10-hour shifts, with opportunities for extra shifts if desired.

Experience

General Anesthesia experience in an Ambulatory Surgical setting is highly preferred. Our team is committed to providing the best possible care to our patients, and we are looking for individuals who share our passion for excellence.

  • Competitive salary range: $168,300 - $205,000 per year (for Full Time, 1.0FTE)

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedure patients
  • Perform initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations or as directed by a physician
  • Instruct others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist
  • Interpret and record patient's physiological and pharmacological status, assist the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data
  • Assist in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist
  • Establish multi-parameter monitoring of patient prior to, during and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations
  • Manage pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management/support, other respiratory care parameters as assigned/directed by an Anesthesiologist
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Masters Degree program
  • Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia
  • Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)
  • Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs)
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) required
