About the Role:

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Munitions Handler to join our team in a dynamic and challenging environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with various warehousing and demilitarization duties, including stock movement, inventory, and disassembly/destruction of munitions within controlled environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehousing and Inventory Management: Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Ensure accurate and timely inventory management, including stock movement, receipt, shipment, inspection, maintenance, and testing of explosive ordnance items or components.
  • Demilitarization and Destruction: Perform destruction and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components in accordance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • Operational Support: Assist with various operational tasks, including but not limited to: Ammo Processing, Disposal Operations, Production Support, Storage and Inventory. Operate mobile equipment such as MHE, vehicles for transporting personnel, tools, equipment, and ammunition components.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Accurately record and report all Munition and Munition component accountability and discrepancies to the appropriate authority.
  • Environmental and Safety Compliance: Ensure all work areas are clean, secure, and safe, including but not limited to pulling weeds, emptying trash, and cleaning restrooms in/or around explosive operations buildings & magazines.

Requirements:

  • Education and Training: Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma/equivalent. Must satisfactorily complete the Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working Ammunition Operations required by AMC Regulation 350-4 within 90 days of hire.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, carrying, and pulling 25lbs, pulling 50lbs, stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching out, overhead, grasping, gripping, dangerous or moving machinery, power/hand tools, discriminate colors.
  • Work Environment: Must be willing to work in a procedural compliant environment, an environmental and safety compliant environment, and wear various levels of personal protective equipment to include Safety hat, shoes, gloves, and glasses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: Experience operating lifting devices, hoists, and overhead cranes. Experience working in a hazardous materials environment. Unexploded ordnance experience.
  • Skills: Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively. Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously. Experience in a production or work management atmosphere.
