Job Description

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the planning, budgeting, and execution of projects within the company. This role involves working closely with upper management to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain production execution for assigned projects.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules.
  • Approve purchases and expenditures related to projects.
  • Meet margin goals for projects.
  • Monitor expenditures against revenue for projects.
  • Identify resources needed and assign responsibilities to team members.
  • Develop and disperse project budgets.
  • Hold pre-job meetings with project staff to ensure understanding of scope and requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of projects.
  • Investigate deviances in man/hour projections and revenue projections.
  • Perform job analysis with Production and Estimating Departments.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in ship repair/fabrication experience.
  • Ability to obtain Rapid Gate/DBIDS Credential for access to USN Facilities.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and administer OSHA, ABS Classification guidelines, USCG, NAVSEA, and SOLAS requirements.

Working Conditions:

  • Open-air conditions, including noisy, hot, cold, and office environments.
  • May require visiting projects aboard ships, rigs, and confined spaces.
  • Must wear hearing, eye, and head protection and proper PPE when required.
  • Visits may require standing on various surfaces, bending, crouching, and climbing.
  • Some climbing and lifting involved.
  • Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights while wearing fall prevention equipment.
  • Working with hot and sometimes hazardous materials.
  • Some travel may be required (~10% per year on average).
