Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with guests to address and resolve maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Utilize HOTSOS software for efficient maintenance management.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and well-lubricated.
  • Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery to identify potential issues.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Manage maintenance inventory and order parts and supplies as necessary.
  • Document information regarding unresolved maintenance requests prior to shift changes.
  • Implement Lockout/Tagout procedures before commencing any maintenance tasks.
  • Carry essential equipment to ensure readiness for all work assignments.
  • Store flammable materials in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Respond to guest repair requests in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Address minor issues related to plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems across all areas.
  • Fulfill maintenance work orders efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide a warm welcome to guests, using their names whenever possible to enhance their experience.
  • Anticipate and respond to guests' service needs through attentive observation and inquiry.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
  • Utilize electronic devices to share information with colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Locksmith License as per NYC regulations.
  • Preferred: Completion of one year of college or trade school in mechanical, electrical, or technical fields.
  • Experience in a maintenance role within a hotel, hospital, or residential environment is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to handle equipment weighing up to 250 pounds regularly.
  • Physical capability to bend, squat, and lift up to 75 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to maintain mobility for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity to operate necessary tools and equipment.
  • Capacity to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical skills for effective problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
  • A positive attitude and hands-on work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
