Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of human resources duties, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and various human resources projects. This role supports the HR department in ensuring a positive employee experience and aligning HR practices with the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment:
    • Coordinate and facilitate the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
    • Handle development and execution of all advertising and communications regarding allocated open positions.
    • Utilize all sources available for recruiting.
    • Plan, advertise, and operate Open Houses or Job Fairs for recruiting purposes.
    • Conduct interviewing and hiring to USI company standards.
    • Build talent pipelines.
    • Use various sources to look for and connect with potential candidates.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify each position's requirements.
    • Ask for referrals from internal and external networks for hard-to-fill roles.
    • Contact past applicants for new job opportunities.
    • Develop a network of potential candidates and industry professionals.
    • Log candidate information in our Applicant Tracking System and other internal databases.
    • Identify future hiring needs and proactively source potential hires.
    • Measure and report on sourcing metrics.
  • Onboarding:
    • Approve and upload new hires into HRIS.
    • Perform regular touch bases with new hires as well as exit interviews.
    • Register/Issue Pay cards.
    • Collect/Track OJT documents.
    • Complete employment verifications as needed.
    • Maintain/manage employee files and I-9 compliance.
    • Track and collect updated resident status and work authorizations.
    • Quarterly OFAC checks.
    • Track completion of SOBC-ID badges as needed.
    • Order uniforms.
    • Handle mail/fedex/ups – incoming/outgoing.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a human resources role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems (HRIS).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
  • Experience with recruitment and onboarding.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and HR analytics.
