Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our patient care team at Beacon Health System. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care services, including bathing, dressing, and feeding patients, as well as assisting with vital signs and other clinical tasks.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Perform various clerical duties, such as preparing patient charts, monitoring medical records, and entering charges and data.
  • Participate in patient care treatments and procedures, including skin care, wound care, and other clinical activities.
  • Support the patient care unit operations by maintaining a clean and organized environment, transporting patients, and delivering and returning equipment and supplies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; previous patient care experience preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) certification required within 3 months of hire and maintained certification.
  • Ability to read, write, and spell medical and non-medical terms, as well as understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Math skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, divide, use fractions, and calculate percentages.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal tactfully and effectively with co-workers, nurses, patients, and families.
