Nurse Coordinator

As a Clinical Nurse II, you will play a vital role in coordinating and participating in the operations on an assigned shift and unit. This position requires the utilization of the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care, while also maintaining a customer service and continuous quality improvement framework.
Responsibilities
- Perform the duties and responsibilities of a clinical nurse II
Patient Care:
Demonstrate consistent use of the nursing process in daily practice, managing more complex patients with minimal assistance.
Knowledge and Skills:
Identify personal learning needs to be competent in area of practice, independently perform advanced skills, and begin to assist others to develop skills using the teaching/learning process.
Professional Relationships/Leadership:
Initiate and effectively demonstrate behaviors that result in positive patient outcomes through group process, identifying the need to change own practice based on PI/QI outcomes.
Quality Improvement/Research:
Expand understanding of research process and its specific application to nursing practice.
- Perform staffing functions as delegated by the nurse manager, adjusting the schedule according to census and acuity.
- Assess the unit workload, staff qualifications, and other appropriate factors, making assignments accordingly.
- Assure policy and procedure compliance, giving feedback and assistance as needed.
- Orient and educate both new and current employees, reviewing documentation of education and following up as needed.
- Complete performance management and discipline procedures as delegated by the nurse manager.
- Demonstrate positive and professional customer service and co-worker relations.
- Assist the nurse manager in managing within budget or other guidelines.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact): The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment, or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically, the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
Competency Statement: Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.

- Associate's Degree (Required)
Credentials
- Registered Nurse (Required)
- Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required) Within 1 year of hire
