Job Summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a skilled Biomedical Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and repairing complex biomedical equipment to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose complex biomedical equipment issues, and implement effective repairs.
  • Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Follow and guide others on GE policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates and colleagues, and establish proactive daily communications with customers.
  • Implement GE/customer facility contracts, supporting business goals and objectives.
  • Lead, instruct, and assist technicians on basic and complex repairs and resolution.
  • Work as a member of a local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within assigned areas.
  • Share on-call/pager responsibility, and document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
  • Maintain approved parts inventory, and manage vendors' service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies.
  • Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment.
  • May perform the role of Site Leader, directing activities of fellow Biomedical Technicians and engaging in a more interactive customer relationship.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment.
  • OR equivalent military education and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical or mechanical equipment.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues to customers in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted, and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to be available after hours, or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
