Role Summary:

U.S. Pipe is on the lookout for a Human Resources Generalist. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding and training management on effective employee relations practices and strategies for addressing supervisory challenges and employee concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative assistance for labor relations, including preparing reports and managing documentation.
  • Conduct research using surveys and interviews to analyze employment policies and make informed recommendations.
  • Offer expert guidance on labor relations matters, including contract interpretation and grievance procedures.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and communicating implications to stakeholders.
  • Respond to common inquiries from applicants and team members regarding policies and benefits.
  • Maintain grievance logs and ensure timely follow-up on issues raised.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistent application of disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate the job bidding process, ensuring effective communication with relevant parties.
  • Update headcount reports to align with management needs and compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate training sessions for supervisors on labor relations topics.
  • Participate in various meetings to stay informed and engaged with departmental activities.
  • Assist in grievance meetings and internal investigations as necessary.
  • Implement and uphold company policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to safety and conduct guidelines.
  • Provide training on collective bargaining agreements and employment-related subjects.
  • Support recruitment efforts for hourly positions, including conducting interviews and facilitating plant tours.
  • Develop job postings and manage candidate sourcing through various platforms.
  • Screen candidates and coordinate the interview process with hiring managers.
  • Facilitate the offer process and manage pre-employment checks.
  • Assist with onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes for approvals and submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • HR Certification is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, particularly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills are essential.
  • Team-oriented mindset focused on collective success.
  • Solid understanding of HR topics including benefits, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant labor laws is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
