About the Role

The HCA Healthcare Operating Room Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to provide hands-on experience and establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills. As a Resident Intern OR RN, you will be part of a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents that promote learning, clinical application, and socialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting administration of care in the patient medical record
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitoring patient response and notifying providers as needed
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating needs
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications within 1 year of employment
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
  • No previous experience required, with some travel possible for training
