Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is tasked with the mechanical troubleshooting and repair of intricate domestic and international machinery and associated equipment utilized in assembly, torque, and material handling operations. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and fixing various types of machinery and components, including mechanical repairs related to utilities, test cells, building maintenance, pump overhauls, HVAC systems, boiler operations, and assembly upkeep.

Compensation: $21.00-$24.00/hr. based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extensive expertise in mechanical and/or electrical repair of machine tools and related equipment is preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited HVAC training program along with practical HVAC experience is required.
  • Ability to install, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, precision bearings, HVAC, and various controllers on assembly machinery.
  • Familiarity with equipment such as boiler systems, pumps, cranes, conveyors, torque tools, and robotic systems is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of machine leveling, alignment, welding, lubrication, pipefitting, and tube bending is necessary.
  • Willingness to engage in overtime as needed to meet production requirements.

Qualifications for Success:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial utilities and repair.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing large-scale dynamometers is beneficial.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including compressors and valves.
  • Proven experience as a boiler operator is required.
  • Capability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and possess basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic welding and cutting skills along with proficiency in using essential tools for utilities maintenance are necessary.
  • Experience with ABB robotic systems is a plus.
  • Self-motivated individual who excels in both independent and collaborative environments.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • Three months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift Certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in the beverage industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this role require regular communication, sitting, and the use of hands for various tasks. Employees may occasionally need to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The role involves lifting and moving weights ranging from 10 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is typically very loud.
