POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is essential in managing the safe operation, daily oversight, and maintenance tasks related to the general upkeep and repair of the facility, automated retrieval systems, loading dock equipment, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, fleet maintenance, refrigeration systems, and security protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding and compliance with all workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with control systems and electrical work (both high and low voltage).
  • Awareness of OSHA electrical safety standards; Title 29.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E electrical safety protocols.
  • Skilled in electrical meter testing.
  • Understanding of OSHA electrical Arc Flash regulations.
  • Proficient in PLC operations and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in conduit bending.
  • Knowledge of motors and motor control centers.
  • Understanding of motor starting procedures.
  • Familiarity with contactors and relays, including repair.
  • Execute welding tasks as required.
  • Complete various special projects related to building or grounds maintenance, such as moving furniture, changing lights, and addressing basic repair needs to ensure timely completion of all maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct general building maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, light bulb replacement, and electrical device repairs.
  • Maintain facility assets through scheduled preventive maintenance and repair activities, including roof inspections, concrete and asphalt repairs, product racking inspections, ASRS inspections, and dock equipment maintenance.
  • Log time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) daily, documenting work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Perform daily refrigeration operator duties, including inspections and logs.
  • Participate in the departmental on-call program as assigned.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
  • Comply with all safety protocols and utilize the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Respond to emergency situations to ensure the safety of employees and the facility.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the department.
  • Adhere to OSHA and other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures, including dress code, grooming standards, and attendance.
  • Foster effective interactions, build relationships, and demonstrate a high level of teamwork.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Facility Technicians I and II.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Education:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of facility maintenance technical training (preferred).

Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum of six years in industrial facility and ASRS maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Refrigeration Operator I / RETA: CARO certification.
  • Refrigeration Operator II / RETA: CIRO certification (preferred).

Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and regulations.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic operations and measurements.

Preferred Certifications:
  • Valid state Driver's License and proof of liability insurance meeting company standards. Completion of a Sysco-approved defensive driving course.
  • Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within three months.
  • Electrical Arc Flash training (preferred).
  • Trade electrical I & II training (preferred).
  • RETA CARO certification required.
  • RETA CIRO certification in addition to RETA CARO (preferred).

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
