Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Clinical Informatics and Innovation to lead our Clinical Informatics team. This individual will be responsible for directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of procedures and systems in medical records, as well as connecting nursing information data through computerized information systems to increase efficiency and effective management of clinical data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Clinical Informatics team to directly support clinical and revenue cycle staff in determining system requirements, adapting clinical and revenue cycle workflows to adopt technology, and understanding system functionality required to support and improve revenue cycle processes.
  • Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of procedures and systems in medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Connect nursing information data through computerized information systems to increase efficiency and effective management of clinical data, improving patient outcomes and reducing costs.
  • Lead team to review and evaluate the monitoring systems and documentation completion in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR), identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Work closely with Applications Analysts, departments, and technical teams to create and maintain appropriate application and workflow documentation, ensuring seamless integration and communication.
  • Serve as the internal clinical resource for the trend transformation team, providing expertise and guidance on clinical informatics and workflow optimization.
  • Serve as the clinical authority in support of trend governance decisions makers, ensuring that clinical data is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clinical subject matter experts as needed to support efforts, ensuring that clinical data is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop clinical leading indicators to support the measurement and testing of clinical trend initiatives, ensuring that data-driven decisions are made to improve patient outcomes and reduce costs.
  • Direct the development of policies and procedures and provide guidance on EMR, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in clinical informatics, workflow optimization, or a related field.
  • Current, valid RN license preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
