Pediatric Care Specialist

We are a pediatric clinic dedicated to providing exceptional care to our young patients and their families. Our team is committed to delivering comprehensive and personalized medical care, while maintaining a strong connection with the communities we serve.

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will provide healthcare services in a family practice clinical setting, working under the general direction of the Medical Director and Practice Administrator.

• Obtain a comprehensive health history through patient/family interviews and chart reviews
• Assess presenting illness, risk factors, and family history, psychosocial situation, and cultural factors
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing and dispensing medications in compliance with medical practice guidelines and state laws
• Diagnose disease states and administer appropriate treatment
• Order/perform appropriate laboratory, diagnostic, and other screening tests
• Document assessment and treatment plans clearly and concisely in patient charts
• Prepare documentation for medical records, including updating patient medical charts
• Effectively communicate with patients and families to ensure awareness of self-management and health promotion/disease prevention
• Recommend appropriate community resources to meet patient/family needs
• Work collaboratively with care teams to prepare for patient office visits and follow-up care
• Maintain a cooperative and respectful attitude with clinic personnel, providers, and patients

• Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing required
• At least 2 years of experience practicing as an NP in a pediatric or clinic/practice environment required
• Valid LA Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses required
• Maintain all appropriate approvals to prescribe and dispense drugs under applicable Louisiana State and federal law (CDS DEA license)
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Courteous and compassionate bedside manner
