Position Overview:

Radiologic Technologist - UnityPoint Health

Location: Urbandale, Iowa

Employment Type: PRN - Weekends

Shift: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday/Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

As a Radiologic Technologist at UnityPoint Health, you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, responsible for:

Clinical Imaging:

  • Conducting precise diagnostic imaging examinations as directed by healthcare providers, utilizing appropriate imaging methodologies.
  • Educating patients and their families about procedures, ensuring they understand the process and what to expect.
  • Implementing radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff in accordance with established safety standards.
  • Maintaining sterile techniques to prevent contamination during procedures.
  • Performing routine quality control checks on imaging devices to guarantee high-quality images.
  • Ensuring compliance with annual inspections conducted by a qualified Radiation Physicist.

Laboratory Duties:

  • Executing phlebotomy tasks and managing specimen processing in line with established protocols.
  • Collecting and preparing samples for point-of-care testing.
  • Documenting laboratory results accurately and maintaining records securely for the required duration.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory instruments and workspaces according to organizational policies.
  • Conducting quality control measures within the laboratory using standard testing protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program is required.
  • Current registration with the ARRT and an active Iowa permit to practice.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in BLS and Mandatory Reporter training.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, medical diagnoses, and treatment protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prior laboratory experience is preferred, but training will be provided.
