This role is situated within the Defense Health Agency, focusing on the Behavioral Health Chief position.

Key Responsibilities
As a Psychiatric Physician, your duties will include:
- Formulating recommendations for significant diagnostic and treatment strategies.
- Delivering ongoing care for chronic inpatients and outpatients with acute mental health disorders and their complications, such as psychosis, organic brain syndrome, and substance use disorders.
- Providing psychiatric evaluations and treatment for patients presenting with urgent mental health issues.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients upon their arrival.
- Collaborating with other medical specialists on complex cases that require multidisciplinary approaches.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements: A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. Alternatively, a Doctor of Medicine degree from a foreign medical school that meets the educational standards equivalent to accredited US schools, as evidenced by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Candidates must have completed a residency in Psychiatry and hold Board Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry. Additionally, a minimum of one year of relevant specialized experience at a comparable level is required. This experience must be clearly detailed in your resume and demonstrate proficiency in conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatments for a diverse patient population, including knowledge of various therapeutic modalities.
