Position Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Operator will play a vital role in supporting range maintenance within a vast training complex. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of various heavy machinery to ensure the functionality of training facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a variety of heavy machinery including bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks to perform tasks such as grading, loading, and relocating materials.
- Conduct equipment maintenance and safety inspections prior to daily operations.
- Transport heavy equipment across different terrains and conditions, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Utilize agricultural tractors and related implements for maintenance tasks in challenging environments.
- Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance schedules to ensure operational efficiency.
- Engage in fieldwork that may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and potential hazards.
Required Skills:
- Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50lbs regularly.
- Proficient in basic maintenance tasks, including welding and plumbing.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Possession of an unrestricted Kentucky Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Demonstrated experience operating heavy machinery in a professional setting.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant experience is required, along with a High School Diploma.
