Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Practice Educator to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing educational programs that support positive staff and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff, including core orientation, in-service education, and competency-based training.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify learning needs and develop targeted educational initiatives.
  • Design and deliver educational materials, presentations, and programs that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs.
  • Provide consultation and support to staff on clinical practice and patient care issues.
Requirements
  • Licensure as a registered nurse or related healthcare discipline in the state of Maryland or eligibility for licensure.
  • American Heart Association CPR Instructor certification.
  • A Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years of experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programming and services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of OR and PACU experience.
  • AORN or ASPAN certification.
  • Knowledge of joint commission requirements.
  • Familiarity with central sterile and onboarding Surgical Techs.
