Urology Outpatient Registered Nurse

As a vital member of the Atlantic Health System, the Urology Outpatient Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care in an ambulatory setting. This position is responsible for overseeing office operations and ensuring that our nursing team provides high-quality services efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Enhances and restores patient health by executing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members; providing both physical and emotional support to patients, their families, and friends; and supervising designated team members.
2.Identifies patient care needs by establishing a personal connection with current and prospective patients, as well as their families.
3.Creates a nurturing environment by offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families.
4.Encourages patient autonomy by setting care objectives; educating patients, their families, and friends about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques; and addressing any inquiries.
5.Ensures high standards of care by adhering to therapeutic protocols; evaluating health outcomes against established patient care goals; making or suggesting necessary adjustments; and following the standards set by the nursing division and relevant regulatory bodies.
6.Addresses patient concerns and needs by leveraging a multidisciplinary approach.
7.Maintains a safe and hygienic work environment by following established procedures, regulations, and guidelines, and by seeking assistance from healthcare support staff when necessary.
8.Safeguards patients and staff by adhering to infection control policies, medication management protocols, and regulations regarding controlled substances.
9.Documents patient care activities by maintaining accurate records in patient and departmental files.
10.Ensures continuity of care among nursing teams by effectively communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
11.Upholds patient confidentiality and protects operations by safeguarding sensitive information.
12.Ensures the functionality of medical equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks; following manufacturer guidelines; troubleshooting issues; requesting repairs; maintaining inventory; and assessing new equipment and techniques.
13.Manages nursing supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels; anticipating supply needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt of supplies; and utilizing equipment and materials effectively to achieve job outcomes.
14.Enhances professional and technical expertise by participating in educational workshops and engaging with professional organizations.
15.Fosters a collaborative atmosphere among healthcare teams by sharing information and participating in team-based problem-solving.
16.Contributes to team success by achieving related objectives as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or valid New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License.
Preferred:
1. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining aseptic techniques and delivering excellent patient care.
2. Experience in acute care settings.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
4. Specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities may be necessary based on the assigned department or specialty group.
5. Previous experience in Ambulatory Surgery or Medical/Surgical settings is required.
