Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians with patient care and treatment, including administering medications, taking vital signs, and performing routine laboratory procedures.
- Monitor hospitalized patients, maintain inventory, and prepare prescriptions as needed.
- Perform routine suture removals, nail trims, and weight checks, and apply bandages and splints as required.
- Assist with surgical procedures, including preparing patients for surgery and maintaining a safe and clean operating environment.
- Provide exceptional client service, including educating clients on preventive medicine and vaccination requirements, and promoting our practice's products and services.
- Maintain accurate and efficient documentation of all vaccinations, procedures, and notes in the medical record.
- Admit and release patients for all hospital procedures, and accurately invoice clients for services.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification preferred.
- At least one year of recent experience in a veterinary practice or medical environment, with increasing responsibilities.
- Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures, including collecting samples, drawing blood, and administering vaccines.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to outstanding client service.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance.
