Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) division at Evonik Corporation. As a PhD Researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct individual and collaborative research projects, including literature surveys and experimental result analysis, to define the current state of the art.
- Develop safe experimental procedures by performing job safety analysis and supporting hazard reviews. Participate in safety programs on site.
- Write up research results and present them through internal seminars.
- Assist in developing potential areas of research focused on decarbonization and sustainability.
- Collaborate with global teams across Evonik to advance research objectives.
- A current graduate student in a PhD program within a science or engineering department, such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, etc.
- Research experience in the field of carbon capture is preferred. Candidates with experience in point-source amine-based carbon capture are highly desired.
- Ability to develop research objectives and carry out individual and/or collaborative projects while planning and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A letter of approval from your PhD advisor and university, if necessary.
