Position Overview

This role serves as a crucial link between operational teams and laboratory functions. The individual will receive training on various regulations at state, federal, and international levels to effectively evaluate and provide guidance on sample testing strategies. Responsibilities include reviewing material lists and testing plans in collaboration with customer service teams, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a bridge between client services teams, chemical laboratory operations, and technical management.
  • Examine sample material lists prepared by client services for thoroughness and precision.
  • Assess testing assignments against client requests and established protocols.
  • Clarify sampling and regulatory requirements with laboratory and technical management as necessary.
  • Organize samples to formulate material lists and testing assignments as required.
  • Guide client service team members in clarifying client testing requirements.
  • Inform the chemical report writing team of appropriate regulatory citations as needed.
  • Exhibit strong time management skills, follow-up, and a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrate high motivation, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • A technical background in Furniture Testing or Chemistry Testing is advantageous.
  • Comply with internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to peers and indirect reports.
  • Enhance efficiency and coordination between the chemistry lab and client services.
  • Address client inquiries effectively.
  • Advise the chemistry team as necessary.
  • Engage in collaborative problem-solving and data analysis for optimal outcomes.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor of Science degree (B.S. in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology is preferred).
  • Experience in client-facing roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with consumer product standards and methodologies related to CPSIA, ASTM, BIFMA, ASME, PROP 65, ISTA, TPCH, and corresponding European regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a dynamic, professional environment.
