Job Summary:
The Paramedic Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational programs to Paramedic students, ensuring they meet the required standards for accreditation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency medical services, teaching experience, and the ability to develop and maintain curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver classroom education to Paramedic students, adhering to established curriculum and accreditation standards.
- Assist the Director in curriculum development, maintenance, and updates.
- Recruit and select students for the Paramedic program, ensuring they meet the required qualifications.
- Develop and implement training programs, workshops, and other educational activities to enhance student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and performance.
Requirements:
- Current Vermont EMT/Paramedic certification.
- Current Instructor Coordinator (CIC) or Certified Lab Instructor (CLI) certification.
- Current Instructor certifications in CPR and other areas of expected instruction.
- Minimum 2 years of field experience as EMT/Paramedic with supervisory experience.
- Experience in a training or educational setting.
- Valid driver's license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Associates, Bachelors, or Masters Degrees.
- National Registry EMT/Paramedic Certification.
- Additional instructor certifications, such as Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), etc.
Working Conditions:
This is a grant-funded position, and the selected candidate will be expected to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Paramedic Instructor will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
