Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician

Job Summary:

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. As a Diesel Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with diesel engines, including AC, electrical systems, and advanced skilled level repairs.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend repairs.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete repairs and meet customer satisfaction goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in diesel mechanics or a related field.
  • Valid CDL Class A or B license preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour based on experience.
  • Additional performance incentives paid monthly.
  • Sign-on bonus: $1500 at 30 days and $1500 at 90 days.
