As a Measurement Systems Specialist, you will leverage innovation and analytical skills to tackle complex challenges, collaborating closely with various partners to ensure the integrity and availability of data. A Day in the Life:

In your capacity as a Measurement Systems Specialist, you will assess our facilities for potential improvements and propose solutions, executing various projects utilizing your expertise and judgment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging in the evaluation and mentorship of colleagues.
  • Cultivating relationships and trust within your professional network.
  • Efficiently addressing issues related to measurement equipment failures, volumetric discrepancies, quality assurance, and measurement evaluations.
  • Conducting internal inspections of meter tubes utilizing electronic fiber scopes, mechanical micrometers, and calipers.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Execute moderately complex tasks to uphold system integrity, support pipeline operations, ensure compliance, and maintain facility equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate issues through technical assessment, creativity, and sound judgment.
  • Develop, present, and provide training to both internal and external stakeholders; mentoring others may also be part of your role.
  • Participate in project planning and collaborate closely with company partners.
  • Lead initiatives related to operations, equipment maintenance, technical standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Interpret and evaluate engineering design documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Measurement Systems Specialist III:

  • Required: High school diploma/GED and relevant experience or an Associate's degree in engineering or a technical discipline with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the oil and gas sector.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field with at least seven (7) years of progressive experience in field operations or another technical specialty.

Measurement Systems Specialist Sr:

  • Required: Associate's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the oil and gas sector.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field with at least ten (10) years of progressive experience in field operations/construction or another technical specialty.

Physical and Environmental Work Requirements:

Must be prepared to:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, noisy environments, and confined spaces.
  • Lift or carry items up to 50 lbs and collaborate on lifting loads exceeding 50 lbs as necessary.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for extended periods.
  • Operate at elevated heights, potentially using man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Utilize hand tools.

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

  • Availability for after-hours work, on-call rotations, night shifts, weekend shifts, and holidays as required.
  • May necessitate overtime, 10-12 hour shifts, and travel between various company locations with occasional overnight stays.

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid State Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and interpersonal skills, prioritizing safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general PC skills.
  • Effectively resolves issues related to measurement equipment failures, volumetric discrepancies, quality assurance, and measurement evaluations.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), HMI, Allen Bradley, and SCADA systems.
  • Understanding of PLC programming.
  • Experience with high-pressure natural gas and piping systems.
  • Preferred: Experience in the operation of natural gas measurement metering, regulation, and gas quality equipment.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AGA Standards AGA 3, AGA 7, AGA 9, and API 21.1.
  • Preferred: Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic control system issues.
