Breakfast Culinary Technician

The Breakfast Culinary Technician is integral to our kitchen operations, ensuring that all morning meals are prepared and presented according to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role involves efficient management of kitchen resources to minimize waste and optimize food production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expertise in breakfast cooking techniques, including the preparation of diverse items such as eggs, pancakes, omelettes, meats, and potatoes.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with established culinary guidelines and production processes.
  • Assess the necessary quantities and types of ingredients and supplies through designated production systems.
  • Synchronize food preparation with serving times to uphold quality and presentation standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure seamless operations.
  • Adhere to portion control and meal preparation protocols consistently.
  • Maintain compliance with sanitation, hygiene, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Store food items properly with clear labeling for easy identification.
  • Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare dishes according to standard recipes and accommodate dietary restrictions.
  • Accurately portion and serve meals.
  • Keep detailed daily production records.
  • Ensure the work area is clean and organized, and that equipment is well-maintained.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss operational improvements.

Work Environment

This position is based in a kitchen setting equipped with various culinary tools, including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chef's knives. The work environment may involve exposure to heat, steam, fire, and noise, as well as potential hazards such as cuts, slips, falls, and burns.

Physical Demands

The role requires occasional sitting, standing, lifting, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and pushing items weighing up to 50 pounds. It necessitates manual dexterity, strong auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow instructions effectively. Employees may need to work outdoors in various weather conditions and practice frequent hand washing.

Position Type/Work Hours

This is a full-time role requiring over forty hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment is essential.

Additional Qualifications

  • Familiarity with state Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations.
  • Possession of a ServSafe certification.
