Job Title: Public Health Nurse Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Nurse Supervisor to join our team at Cuyahoga County Board of Health. As a key member of our public health services team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to staff in the Children with Medical Handicaps (CMH), School Health, and School Based Dental Sealant programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and leadership to staff in providing programmatic services.
  • Oversee assigned programs to ensure proper compliance with regulatory and funder requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate public health programs, including policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Lead the coordination and maintenance of programs to meet community needs and grant/regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and write grant applications and related documents.
  • Manage the performance of assigned staff and initiate the hiring and progressive discipline process.
  • Prepare and revise budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure program fiscal administration.
  • Work with other service areas to investigate complaints of potential public health hazards.
  • Monitor applications and databases to ensure completion of all data entry and required program reports.
  • Participate in local and state-wide meetings to stay abreast of changes in public health trends and regulations.
  • Represent CCBH on state/national sub-committees and participate in CCBH initiatives for program improvement and funding.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Valid state of Ohio Registered Nurse license; current CPR certification.
  • Minimum of five years of public health nursing experience, including experience as a Program Manager or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance at time of appointment.
  • Strong ability to efficiently multi-task on a daily basis.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to preserve confidentiality of protected health information and program records.
  • Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills, and effective presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills, including cultural sensitivity and competence.
  • Proficiency with use of PC hardware and basic software, email, and office equipment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with databases and data collection methodology.
