Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities Engineering team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems essential for Navy operations. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including craft organizations, subcontractors, and project managers, to support both construction initiatives and ongoing operational needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialized knowledge in the engineering and operation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and steam systems.
- Leading the planning, design, and oversight of maintenance and modifications to system equipment and facilities.
- Troubleshooting technical challenges, developing specifications, and delivering engineering solutions.
- Serving as a technical authority for project scoping, design evaluations, and construction assistance.
- Managing operations, maintenance, and construction activities related to facility equipment.
- Assessing systems and recommending engineering solutions to enhance reliability, performance, and efficiency.
- Coordinating efforts with internal teams and external partners.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering or science discipline, accompanied by relevant experience. Additional qualifications may be necessary for specific supervisory roles.
Preferred Expertise- Experience in engineering design, troubleshooting, or repair processes.
- Familiarity with mechanical codes and fundamental principles.
- Ability to create engineering documentation and review technical schematics.
- Understanding of maintenance strategies and predictive technologies.
- Experience in verification and acceptance testing for facility-related projects.

Annual compensation between $92,000 and $145,200, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
