Inspections Management Lead

Company Overview: DeKalb County is seeking a highly skilled Inspections Management Lead to oversee and direct assigned staff in ensuring the highest level of quality in inspections.
Salary: $75,000 - $120,000 per year
Job Description:
Main Responsibilities:- SUPERVISE AND DIRECT ASSIGNED STAFF: Provide guidance and oversight to ensure effective completion of tasks and projects.
- WORK SCHEDULE MANAGEMENT: Develop and manage employee work schedules to meet departmental needs.
- TIMESHEET REVIEW AND APPROVAL: Review and approve timesheets for accuracy and completeness.
- EMPLOYEE CONCERNS AND PROBLEMS: Address and resolve employee concerns and problems in a fair and timely manner.
- PERFORMANCE APPRAISALS: Assist with or complete employee performance appraisals to evaluate employee progress and growth.
- DIRECT WORK ACTIVITIES: Prioritize and schedule work activities to meet objectives and ensure effective resource allocation.
- RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: Ensure subordinates have the necessary resources to complete assigned tasks.
- MONITOR WORK PROGRESS: Regularly monitor the status of work in progress and inspect completed work for quality and accuracy.
- PROBLEM-SOLVING: Consult with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise.
- REPORTING: Provide regular progress reports to management on work activities and results.
- PROCESS DOCUMENTATION: Process various documentation associated with department/division operations within designated timeframes and according to established procedures.
- REVIEW AND PROCESS DOCUMENTS: Receive, review, and process various documents, including code books, inspection reports, building installations and alterations, and payroll records.
- PREPARE REPORTS AND DOCUMENTATION: Prepare and complete various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation as needed.
- MANTAIN RECORDS: Maintain accurate and up-to-date computerized and hardcopy records.
- SCHEDULE INSPECTOR TRAINING: Schedule and record inspector training sessions.
- MANTAIN VEHICLE RECORDS: Maintain records of vehicle certifications and licenses.
- VEHICLE MAINTENANCE: Ensure the maintenance of department vehicles, including scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Engineering or Construction Management required; five years of experience in inspections, engineering or construction management to include lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
