Job Summary

The Housekeeping Operations Manager will work closely with the Housekeeping Manager to oversee the housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring that product quality standards are met and that exceptional service is provided to hotel guests in accordance with hotel and company business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Maintain Quality Standards: Conduct regular inspections of assigned suites and public areas to ensure that furnishings, guest suites, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest expectations.
  • Train and Develop Team Members: Provide training and guidance to housekeeping staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Schedule and Assign Tasks: Assist with scheduling and room cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage and efficient use of resources.
  • Manage Supplies and Equipment: Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies, as well as monitor commercial laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order.
  • Ensure Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services, and promote a culture of safety and well-being among team members.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or other members of the hotel management team.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of housekeeping experience, including some supervisory training or experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills, including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility; carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds.
