About the Unit

Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Corewell Health is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment that provides exceptional care to critically ill patients. Our team of experienced nurses and healthcare professionals work together to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to patients with complex medical conditions.

Scope of Work

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the SICU utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The RN works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring that patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care. The RN also provides education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and empowering them to take an active role in their care.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a current RN license in the state of Michigan and a minimum of one year of acute care experience. You must also have a strong foundation in critical care nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire, and AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months. Specialty certification is highly recommended within two years.
