The Shop Technician II is a critical role within our team, responsible for performing complex jobs involving the servicing and repair of various mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel-powered equipment. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment and systems.
  • Install and replace new or reconditioned parts, ensuring proper fit and function.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure equipment is operating within specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts requisitions, timecards, and service reports.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel equipment.
  • Shift work, weekends, and/or 24-hour call may be required.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals.
  • Working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
Working Conditions:
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
  • Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
