About the Role

Kettering Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.


Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performing accurate and timely laboratory tests and procedures
  • Correlating laboratory results with disease processes and understanding basic physiology
  • Maintaining awareness and compliance with regulatory requirements, safety regulations, and ethical standards of practice
  • Providing excellent customer service and communication with healthcare providers and patients
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe and clean work environment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A baccalaureate degree in a related science field, such as biology, chemistry, or mathematics
  • Successful completion of a NAACLS-accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or a related science program
  • MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) certification, or categorical certification and a BS or BA in a related science field

Preferred Qualifications

ASCP certification is preferred, and recent microbiology experience is a plus.


This is a full-time position based in the Microbiology department, with flexible shifts and a competitive salary and benefits package.
