About the Role

D.R. Horton, Inc., a leading homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a skilled Assistant Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will assist the Superintendent in managing the community job site, ensuring high-quality construction, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in scheduling and supervising job site subcontractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain quality standards, cost management, and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure workmanship meets company standards and schedules are on track.
  • Walk completed homes with inspectors to identify and address any issues before homeowner walk-throughs.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring homeowner satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and homeowners.
  • Stay up-to-date with building codes, construction materials, and methodologies to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Assist in managing construction materials to prevent damage, waste, and theft.
  • Support the construction schedule to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 6-24 months of related experience in construction or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to drive between construction sites.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read plans and construction documents.
  • Minimum supervision required; ability to work independently and create a systematic approach to tasks.
  • Ability to converse with customers, management, and personnel.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds; regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
