We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated pharmacy team in the Veterinary Health Center at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional pharmacy services to our small animal, food animal, and equine hospitals.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret DVM prescriptions and process them in our computer system.
- Prepare prescriptions and forward them to the pharmacist for approval.
- Compound special dosage forms and prepare sterile dosage forms (IV solutions, chemotherapeutic drugs, TPNs, PPNs).
- Answer telephone calls and assist individuals with pharmacy requests.
- Fill Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets and process and audit charges for patients and departments.
- Inspect pharmacy stock monthly for expiring drugs and supplies and remove them from stock.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
- One year or more prior pharmacy experience is highly desirable.
