About the Role:

Ochsner Health System is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to students in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer nursing care within a school system, utilizing the Nursing Process to deliver patient/student care.
  • Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines.
  • Utilize data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Excellent computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
