Job Description

At MEAG Power, we are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Planning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Transmission Planning department, you will be responsible for performing complex power flow, contingency, and stability analyses to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our transmission grid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing power flow, contingency, and stability analyses to identify potential issues and optimize transmission system performance.
  • Help maintain and update transmission models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Support senior engineers in planning studies and project evaluations to inform transmission system development and upgrade decisions.
  • Evaluate existing transmission facilities to identify areas for improvement and develop improvement projects to accommodate load growth or improved reliability.
  • Coordinate design, engineering, and construction for new or improvement projects identified under system or area planning.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with significant coursework in power systems.
  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in transmission planning or power system analysis, depending on level.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) license is a plus, Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Basic understanding of power systems, transmission systems, and load flow analysis.
  • Familiarity with transmission planning software (e.g., PSSE, PSCAD).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (NERC, FERC, IEEE).
