Position Overview
The Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) Sales Associate plays a crucial role in facilitating access to MLTC insurance by offering education and support to individuals receiving long-term care services. This position is responsible for informing consumers, providers, and business partners about the features and advantages of Managed Long Term Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide education and assist eligible Medicaid recipients in enrolling in the MetroPlusHealth Managed Long Term Care program.
- Identify potential Medicaid consumers through various channels, including Home Care Agencies, Adult Day Care Centers, and other relevant organizations.
- Understand and implement all policies and procedures related to:
- Disclosures and provisions of different MetroPlusHealth Plan products.
- Enrollment and disenrollment processes for each service line.
- Maintain knowledge of services available to Medicaid consumers eligible for MLTC, such as In-Home Services for the Elderly Program, Housing Options, and Government Benefits.
- Be accountable for comprehending the essential concepts, features, and benefits of the MetroPlusHealth MLTC product.
- Promote the services offered by the Plan, including covered and non-covered benefits, exclusions, and exemptions.
- Educate consumers, providers, and business partners about the features and benefits of Managed Long Term Care.
- Adhere to marketing activity guidelines established by various regulatory agencies.
- Assist consumers with:
- Selecting a Primary Care Provider (PCP)
- Completing necessary marketing materials and documentation as required by MetroPlusHealth and regulatory agencies.
- Filling out enrollment forms and necessary reports for Medicaid consumers eligible for MLTC.
- Follow up on leads and referrals from family members and caregivers of potential enrollees.
- Ensure a sufficient supply of marketing materials is maintained.
- Meet marketing enrollment targets set by the Plan.
- Conduct presentations at Home Care Agencies, support groups, and caregiver training sessions, as well as home visits and personalized appointments to facilitate the enrollment process.
- Engage in promotional activities to enhance awareness of the MetroPlusHealth MLTC product, including outreach calls and participation in community events.
- Collaborate with Outreach Representatives, Member Service Representatives, and other MetroPlusHealth personnel to address member concerns regarding enrollment and complaints.
- Establish and nurture productive relationships with Home Care Providers, Caregivers, and other healthcare professionals involved with Medicaid Long Term Care patients.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and team discussions.
- Identify and implement new marketing opportunities.
- Assist members in accessing healthcare services and other necessary resources.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with provider organizations and community groups where marketing activities are conducted.
- Promote the Vision, Mission, Values, and Goals of MetroPlusHealth.
- Engage in telemarketing and outreach efforts as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; College Degree or coursework preferred.
- 2-3 years of sales experience is necessary.
- Experience in Managed Long Term Care is preferred.
- A valid NYS Driver's License is advantageous.
Licensure and/or Certification Required
- New York State Life, Accident, and Health Insurance Agent License.
