Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Davis Bowen Friedel, Inc. (DBF). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, enhancing, maintaining, and protecting the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Planning: Utilize design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs for water infrastructure, sanitary sewer infrastructure, roadway and streetscape improvements, transportation, and hydraulics.
  • Civil Design Analysis: Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Project Management: Plan and coordinate projects based on the analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
  • Reporting and Communication: Draft and present reports on topics related to projects, including stormwater reports and right-of-way descriptions, and attend municipal meetings and public hearings as necessary.
  • Estimation and Coordination: Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs, and coordinate permitting with local agencies.
Requirements
  • Education: A four (4) year degree in civil engineering is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of related experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the demonstrated ability to market and work with planners, developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies is expected.
  • Licensure: A professional engineering license in the State of Maryland or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months of employment is preferred.
