Job Summary:

Cone Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Assistant to join our team as a Float Position. In this role, you will provide critical support to our nursing staff by observing and documenting patient conditions, assisting with daily tasks, and promoting a safe environment for patients at risk of suicide or self-harm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility to promote recovery and plan of care.
  • Assess patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge patients to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care.
  • Assist with patient elimination needs, including ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters to provide comfortable care for patients.
  • Maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Verify that fall risk patients have the appropriate arm bands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.

Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • EXPERIENCE: Licensure/Certification/Registry/Listing: Nurse Aide I, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
