Director of Engineering and Facilities

Located in the heart of Napa Valley, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley is a world-class resort that offers an unparalleled luxury experience. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering and Facilities to join our team. As a key member of our Executive Leadership Team, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations, including plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, electrical, ground care, and parking areas. You will also be responsible for energy/green initiative systems and management of other engineering work necessary to maintain the property in an efficient condition to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and employees.

• Oversee a team of Engineering and Maintenance specialists
• Manage all engineering operations, including plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, electrical, ground care, and parking areas
• Responsible for energy/green initiative systems and management of other engineering work necessary to maintain the property in an efficient condition
• Control labor and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, policy making, and inventory control
• Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff
• Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary
• Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise effectively with the Director of Purchasing
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies, and rules to ensure an efficient department and well-maintained physical product
• Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools and monitor distribution of items

• Previous Director of Engineering experience preferred with at least five years of Managerial experience in hotel/resort environment
• Solid project management skills, evidence a strong work/ethic, adaptability, and flexibility, a team player, and leadership skills
• Strong business acumen, including experience at creating an annual budget for hotel operations, capital improvements, expenses, and labor, with the ability to adjust the forecast accordingly
• Must be able to stay organized and problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, handling many tasks at the same time
• Qualifications are required either a Professional degree in an Engineering discipline, trade degree in a specific technical field relating to Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering) or CEOE - Certified Engineering Operations Executive from the Hotel and Motel Hospitality Association, Building Owners Management Institution (BOMI) designation, Real Property Administrator (RPA), Facility Management Administrator (FMA), or Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA)

• Salary Range: $150,000 - $168,000 Depending on Experience
