Position Overview:

The Lifeguard plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals utilizing the swimming facility. Reporting directly to the Swim Director, this position is essential for maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive at the facility in proper uniform at least ten minutes prior to the start of your shift to receive important updates and instructions.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Continuously monitor the swimming area to ensure the safety of all patrons and enforce established safety protocols.
  • Regularly test and adjust pool chemicals to maintain optimal water quality.
  • Keep the pool area and associated equipment clean and well-maintained, promptly reporting any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Prepare and organize program equipment for various activities.
  • Engage with guests and participants during non-active guarding periods to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Promote positive experiences and interactions in all programs and activities.
  • Uphold a high standard of professionalism while ensuring a clean and safe environment for all.
  • Work effectively with diverse groups and embody the values of the organization.
  • Attend meetings and actively communicate the mission of the organization to the community.
  • Assist with additional tasks as necessary to support the overall operation.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a current lifeguard certification.
  • Certification in CPR/AED/O2/First Aid, along with successful completion of the required swim test.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Completion of the new associate training program.
