About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Classroom Coaching Professional to join our team at Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans. As a key member of our Early Childhood Education department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the implementation of effective educational practices in our Child Care Center Programs.

**Job Summary:**

  • Conduct CLASS observations and provide coaching to teaching staff to improve instructional outcomes;
  • Ensure program Education policies, procedures, performance standards, and licensing requirements are met through on-site monitoring;
  • Monitor curriculum implementation and provide technical assistance to partner programs as needed;
  • Develop and implement professional development opportunities for staff, including foster grandparents;
  • Assist with quarterly in-service training and annual performance evaluations of teaching staff;
  • Collaborate with the School Readiness Coordinator and Content Area Coordinators to identify ongoing professional development needs;
  • Monitor staff progress and child outcomes based on project goals and report positive outcomes for children;
  • Attend screenings, evaluations, and IEP meetings as requested; and
  • Participate in parent meetings, Support Assistance Team (SAT) meetings, and other conferences as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily observations of staff interactions with children and make recommendations for improvement;
  • Conduct monthly classroom observations to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment;
  • Provide timely feedback on observations and assist teachers in maintaining an environment conducive to learning;
  • Model and/or demonstrate lessons as needed for teaching staff;
  • Assist early Head Start/Head Start teachers in maintaining an environment conducive to learning;
  • Conduct conferences with individual protégé teachers and provide opportunities for reflection and application;
  • Meet regularly with Center Directors, School Readiness Coordinator, and Content Area Coordinators to discuss professional development needs;
  • Monitor staff's progress and child outcomes based on project goals and report positive outcomes for children;
  • Assume responsibility for the care and safety of children and planning and implementation of daily activities in the absence of the lead teacher;
  • Maintain contact and communication with parents of children in assigned classrooms as appropriate;
  • Review various learning materials, videos, curriculums, etc. for possible program use in the classrooms;
  • Assist in quarterly in-service training for all teaching staff, including foster grandparents;
  • Participate in annual performance evaluations of teaching staff; and
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • BA in Early Childhood Education or related field with 2 years of teaching experience;
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Education best practices, CLASS instrument, and Head Start Performance Standards;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, staff, and community agencies;
  • Computer literacy/proficiency;
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others, respect confidentiality, and maintain professional boundaries;
  • Must possess skills in engaging and motivating program participants and staff to increase;
  • Must have ability to work holistically as part of a team with professionals, para-professionals, program participants, and their families, volunteers, and the community at-large toward successful outcomes for program participants;
  • Must respect the integrity of each program participant, their right to privacy and confidentiality, and their right to participate in our programs;
  • Able to pass a physical exam and TB test yearly;
  • Background check required;
  • Liability insurance and workers' compensation benefits provided;
  • Compliance with the State of LA Child Protection Act and Archdiocese Policy on Abuse and Neglect.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
