Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Visitation Specialist to join our team at Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc. This role is responsible for facilitating, monitoring, and documenting family visits and overseeing monitored exchanges in a Family Visitation Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and document interactions between non-residential parents/guardians and children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, Guardians Ad Litem, courts, and other parties to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensure visiting rooms are clean and safe for use, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Orient families to the visitation center and explain procedures before the first visit, providing clear guidance and support.
  • Develop visitation plans and schedules for families, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Assist with data collection and entry for the KCI Clearinghouse databases, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Attend court hearings and serve as a record custodian for supervised visits, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Provide training for staff, focusing on skills for working with at-risk clients, and promoting a culture of care and compassion.
  • Report incidents and accidents according to policy, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Assist with special events or projects for the visitation center, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to go above and beyond.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of our services and programs.
  • Arrive on time and ready to work, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to our mission.

  • Be trained and authorized to access protected health information, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED:

AA degree, bachelor's degree preferred, 2+ years of direct experience working with children/families.

Physical Requirements: Ability to travel statewide on a regular basis; ability to bend, lift, and carry 30 pounds.
