In this role, you will develop both standard and innovative sweet products to demonstrate Sensient's products in support of existing and new business growth opportunities at targeted customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create ice cream, bakery, and confectionery products to demonstrate Sensient's product lines and effectively communicate the status of projects to the Applications Manager.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by integrating creative and technical expertise in a team environment. Participate in cross-functional project activities.
  • Accompany Account Representatives on customer calls to help educate our customers on company strengths and capabilities. Assist the customer by providing solutions for their product and process challenges.
  • Host customer workshops to streamline project initiatives.
  • Coach and train less senior scientists on project work and skills.
  • Work in the pilot plant and help to run equipment and test new products.
  • Identify and focus resources on new technologies and ingredients that will provide innovative solutions to customer and industry issues.
  • Participate in scheduled sensory panels.
  • Some travel may be required to visit customers and support plant scale-ups.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in experience in Food Science/Food Technology, chemistry, or a related technical area with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the food and/or flavor industry with a background in product development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of flavors and ingredients with expertise in key technical areas. Must have the ability to accurately formulate finished ice cream, bakery, and confectionery products in most. Possess knowledge of pertinent processes, regulatory guidelines, and sensory testing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver formal presentations is desirable.
  • A working knowledge of appropriate computer software applications is required.
