Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Basic Skills, ABE/GED courses at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching classes to offenders, preparing teaching materials, assigning grades, and maintaining records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ABE, GED, ELA, and/or HS21+ classes using both lecture and laboratory modes of instruction.
  • Participate in curriculum revision, program management, and research-related activities.
  • Interview and screen prospective students into the program.
  • Maintain competency assessment records and student progress accountability measures.
  • Track and assign grades.
  • Ensure classroom and equipment are in excellent condition.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an academic subject area required; master's degree desired.
  • Experience teaching in a correctional facility desired.
  • Experience as an instructional trainer/teacher at the secondary or post-secondary level, correctional, industrial, corporate, and/or workplace setting desired.
  • Curriculum development and evaluation, student advising, and student recruitment experience desired.
Working Conditions

This is a temporary part-time instruction assignment contingent on enrollment. The successful candidate must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful authorization to work in the United States within three days of employment.
