Key Responsibilities:
The Chaplain at Bluegrass Care Navigators is tasked with providing spiritual care services to patients, families, and caregivers, either directly or through collaboration with other spiritual care providers. This role encompasses various aspects of patient care, except where restricted by licensure.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited seminary with a Master of Divinity degree or a comparable master's level qualification (Chaplain II), eligible for certification with a recognized professional chaplaincy organization; OR graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree focusing on theological studies or equivalent (Chaplain I). Must be ordained or endorsed and in good standing within their faith community. Completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education is required.
- Understanding of the processes surrounding death, dying, and bereavement.
- Familiarity with the dynamics of working within an interdisciplinary healthcare team, including the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Awareness of the spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their families.
- Knowledge of various faith traditions and the capacity to engage with families from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective public speaking and community engagement skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential matters.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle that meets state and organizational insurance requirements, including personal auto liability coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury.
- Compliance with Bluegrass Care Navigators' Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies is expected.
