Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team at ATC White Plains. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and collaborate with patients, family members, peers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs, plan care, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing regimens in accordance with hospital and nursing philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to meet the age-specific needs of patients in all aspects of care, including biophysical, psychosocial, education, safety, and discharge planning.
  • Address issues with appropriate actions and adhere to infection control standards to reduce the risk of nosocomial infections.
  • Delegate activities to ancillary staff as necessary and adhere to the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives and complete competency requirements.
  • Assume Charge Nurse responsibility and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current New York registration.
  • Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN) required for all external RNs hired on or after January 1st, 2018.
  • One year of acute care nursing experience preferred for areas other than medical surgical or step-down.
  • BLS certification (through American Heart Association) is required.
  • ACLS certification (through American Heart Association) is required for all RNs, except for NICU and OR RNs.
  • PALS certification (through American Heart Association) is required for all RNs working in the PACU, 5I Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Armonk Urgent Care, and Ambulatory Surgery.
  • NRP certification is required for all RNs working in the Mother-Baby unit, Labor & Delivery, and NICU.
Work Environment

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with continuous interruptions and must be able to adapt to rapidly changing situational needs of patients, department, and hospital.

The successful candidate will be able to move about freely at least 85% of the time and must be able to remain stationary for extended periods. The position requires the ability to move patients of all weights with a minimum of one assist or assistive device/equipment.
