Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Cardiac Care Specialist to join our team at MEDSTAR HEALTH. As a key member of our Heart and Vascular Institute, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our cardiac program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver proficient nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, including pre and post-procedural care, and short-stay observational patients receiving specialized anti-arrhythmic medication or cardiac monitoring.
  • Collaborate closely with the Cardiac Cath and EP Labs to care for patients after interventions to diagnose and treat heart conditions, and prepare patients for open heart surgery or non-invasive valve replacements.
  • Identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyze trends and changes in patient status, planning appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications:

  • Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
  • ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
